APPOINTMENT

OF THE

DIRECTOR-GENERAL

THE CONFERENCE

Acting

in accordance with Article VII of the Constitution,

Having proceeded

to a secret ballot as laid down in Rule XII of the General Rules of the Organization,

Declares

that

Edouard Saouma

is appointed to the Office of

Director-General

, for a period of six years, from

1 January 1982

, the term of office expiring on

31 December 1987

;

Resolves

that the salary and allowances of the

Director-General

shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of Resolution 19/81;

Further

resolves

that the other terms and conditions of service of the

Director-General

shall be governed by the relevant provisions of the Staff Regulations subject, however, to the provisions of the contract to be signed by the

Chairman of the Conference

on behalf of the Organization and by the Director-General in accordance with Rule XXXVI.1(c) of the General Rules of the Organization.
